Lykke Li -Little Bit

good artist. good song. good video.

Are you ready?

No Doubt on Tour 2009

Little Britain USA mimobots!

This is so awesome. I want my own Carol Beer USB stick. Sadly, "Computer says NO"

Juvelen - They don't love you (live)

Great live performance, not to mention I love the typeface used in this video.

Juvelen They Don't Love You

Juvelen (aka Jonas Pettersson) is like a concoction of Prince meets cheesy 80s techno/dance-pop reminiscent of Common Denominator (via Reggie and the Full Effect) sung by a very sexual Swede. If you don't like it at first, listen to it about three times and watch his videos. You'll change your mind for the better.

Boca

Boca (aka Marcos Ceravolo). Brilliant and beautiful motion design pieces that are also informational.

Cost of War

Excellent motion piece by Bran Dougherty-Johnson. Great way of showing a lot of information all at once.

Kitten Surprise!! (how to break up a cat fight) THE ORIGINAL

the end makes it hilarious!

Dark Knight Poster

I'm not insanely obsessed with seeing the new batman movie the week it releases (I wouldn't be surprised if I end up waiting for it to come out on dvd and watch it on netflix a year from now). But I was completely blown away by this new poster for The Dark Knight done by BLT & Associates. I'm a sucker for a collage and good graphic design.

Michel Gondry HP

I didn't know he did an HP commercial. He's always a little strange, that's what makes him so great.

Greg Lamarche

Greg Lamarche is a fantastic collage artist. The block letters remind me of novelty packaging design in the late 60s / early 70s. He has a real eye for color and typography.

mr smile

this is strangely cute, and very weird.

Let's go out to the kitchen and have ourselves a snack!

Found this old milk commercial from the mid 90s on a VHS. Love it!

Cubby Bernstein (hilarious)!

This is viral video at it's best. Great viral promotion to get Xanadu attention, and possibly Tony recognition. Watch episode one, then episode four and five, and of course, Dyllun.

Cubby Bernstein is the best.

La Jetee--Chris Marker

I have been trying to remember the name of this film and the director for the past 8 years. I saw it in my very first introduction to film class and loved the use of photomontage.

Christian Siriano is so fab ferosh!

Watch out Miss J. Alexander, Christian Siriano is stitching it up a notch.

The Birds

Took a walk in the neighborhood yesterday and was very freaked out after passing a flock of birds. The birds seemed to be so startled by us walking by that they all flew to higher ground and lined up on the power lines above. They were all squawking and making strange noises like they were swearing at us in their own little birdy language. It was like walking in a scene of The Birds.

NUT AND BEE

Found this cute site, Nut and Bee, by illustrator Annette Lauder. Her sketches are awesomely adorable. She prints her sketches on magnets, letter sets, notepads, stickers, t-shirts, and wrapping paper. You definitely should check it out!

lovely inspiration

This is truly madness!

This little old lady's house is surrounded by construction of a new shopping center (Ballard Blocks). She was offered one million dollars to move, but she refused. So they are building around her.

Kate Nash- Merry Happy

I didn't like Kate when I first heard of her over a year ago because I thought her "Caroline is a Victim" was annoying especially the way she said "killa killa killa"---I absolutely hated it. But I really like this song. It's probably the only song of hers that I like...so that means it's really fabulous! Have a listen.

Adele - Chasing Pavements

Love her voice.

Lunch with Anderson Cooper, oh my!

How much would you pay to have lunch with Anderson Cooper? The Bailey House 20th Annual (AIDS Benefit) Auction is auctioning off a lunch with Andy at Gabriel's...the value they say is "priceless!" Last year someone payed $21,000 to have lunch with him. That's a lot of money just for lunch, but looking at his handsome, charming face for and hour and a half is probably worth every penny.

Tina Fey on Hilary Clinton

Seriously, give this a watch.

Inform Interiors

Planning a mini trip to Vancouver soon and saw this beyond amazing photograph of a store called Inform Interiors in Gastown.

ah...1998!

I'm cleaning up the last little pile of my MTV's120 Minutes collection of music videos and I found this little jem by Our Lady Peace.

Screw Cloverfield, go see Strange Wilderness

Long story short Cloverfield made me so nauseous that we had to walk out. I can watch Blair Witch on a large screen with no equilibrium problems, but Cloverfield's Joe Schmoe like amateur video cinematography was just unbearable to sit through. We should have seen Strange Wildness just based on this clip alone.

Remember when...

MTV had no reality tv shows, actually played a few hours of music videos, and had legit music news shows like MTV News 1515. And remember that short lived Hole/Marilyn Manson tour? I love the feuds.

For that special someone on Valentines Day

Law and Order SVU V-day cards...my personal favorite is the one with Det. Munch ("Hey Cutie").

GCycle

Found a very cool site, GCyle, that shares the importance of recycling your old electronic stuff (batteries, tvs, vhs tapes, print cartriges, cell chargers, etc). The illustration was done by explodingdog. Very nice.

Wait for it....

Click on the image, for some reason you can't see the animated gif here.

Mark Ronson feat. Alex Greenwald - Just (New Version)

A part of me always wants to hate Mark Ronson, but a part of me really wants to love him. He's a clever guy who can make covers sound pretty delightful and new.

Blast from the past!

Skip n' Dale

Oh Brett and Jon, you're so funny.

"Girlfriends" Writers Have the Best Strike Chants

"DOWNLOADS, WEBISODES... YOU CANT HAVE THEM...FOR FREE!" You've gotta admit, it's catchy.

Who's On The Line

This is sad. And tv sucks without these writers. Seriously, I can't keep watching reality tv. Thanks a lot AMPTP, you're a jerkface.

California

Drove by the "Six Feet Under" House

Seeing this Anderson Cooper 360 billboard in downtown SF was mr. B's highlight of the trip.

A demolished building

Love the texture of this grass, tweaked the color

Japanese vending machines on the Universal Studios tour...man I want to go to Japan again.

Mr. B and some friends

Some rocks.

I hope this is resolved soon.
