I love this song! Heard it on Virgin Radio this morning. At first couldn't put my finger on who was singing...but I knew it had to be either the Cardigans or Manic Street Preachers...it was the later featuring Nina. And I love the "you stole the sun from my heart" reference!

Mount Rainier
Went to Mount Rainier yesterday. It was beautiful outside! Took a mini hike on the Bench Lake trail. The bugs were whizzing by and crawling everywhere. That I hated. At least I didn't see any centipedes. Took a few great images (click the image to get larger view).

The video isn't mindblowing..the cropping technique is something I've used before years ago. But the song is amazingly calming. And once again, references to New York.
HBOvoyeur project
You've got to check out HBO's experimental multimedia experience that is HBO Voyeur. It's a modern day spin on "Rear Window." I am quite jealous HBO thought of this concept before me--side note: someone in one of my classes two years ago had an idea similar to this, but she executed it poorly. But I am very impressed with HBO because they have realized the importance of technology in the realm of entertainment, by presenting this project in various ways: as an installation piece in Soho(Broome and Ludlow...check it out and let me know how it looks), online at hbovoyeur.com and on HBO Demand, they are gaining a wider audience and making the whole experience very addictive. I love it! Even the icon interface is sleeky and clean, well done! And the fact that it is based in New York City, I am even more envious. New York City, I miss you so. Let us never fight again.

Loved it. I've been a fan of Micheal Moore's for years. Wished there were more shows like TV Nation and The Awful Truth. I would so love to work for Mr. Moore.
Whether you love or hate Moore, SiCKO should be seen nonetheless. Healthcare in the US is insanely messed up. Why everyone is so afraid of a government regulated healthcare, thinking we'd end up as commie socialists, it's just ludicrous. I'm sure you can certainly argue against most of Moore's biased views in the documentary, but that last fifteen minutes of film, hands down is the best and most emotional part of the film.
How terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay get free top notch healthcare, probably paid for with our tax dollars, yet 9/11 volunteer workers suffering from so many aliments are denied health care coverage and support. The very people who are responsible for 9/11, all the death and destruction are basking in prison luxury, while our 9/11 heroes, the very ones who risked their lives for us, are struggling to pay medical bills for health conditions caused by the hazardous environment at ground zero.
My response to this craziness...
And why is it every time I see a film by Moore I ask myself, "I'm not moving to Canada yet because......my husband hates extremely cold weather?" I don't think that's a valid reason for us not to move to Canada. I miss Canada, though I've only been there three times, and the last time it was beyond freezing cold...I would so love to be celebrating Canada Day yesterday and today then be celebrating the Fourth of July in two days. Let's face it, Canadians are way cooler.

Dick's Drive In milkshakes are the best!
Went to this Dick's Drive In...they've got old fashioned milkshakes that are to die for! Screw the fat and calories, it was heaven!
Kwik-E-Marts do exist!
To help promote the Simpsons movie, 7-11 has turned a few of its stores in to Kwik-E-Marts. They are even selling Kwik-E-Mart items such as Squishees, KrustyO's, Buzz Cola and Pink Donuts. Sadly no Flinstones chewable morphine or nuts and gum mix, Venus Gummi de Milo or Flaming Homers or Krusty brand imitation gruel. But thank goodness they've got one in Seattle! I am so tempted to take the bus downtown just to see this. I will post some pictures of the Kwik-E-Mart soon.
